Our teapots are hand made by skilled artisans from the Jiangsu Province of Eastern China (northwest of the Shanghai Municipality). The town of Dingshu, in Yixing County, is the pottery capital of China. Pottery technology got off to an early start in Dingshu with the invention of the Dragon Kiln over 1000 years ago. There are over 2000 varieties of pottery produced in Dingshu - including ceramic tables, flowerpots, figurines and the famed Yixing teapots. Dingshu has been known for both its Tea and Teapots since the Qin and Han Dynasties. Yixing teapots are valued by serious collectors as objects of art. The Yixing teapots that I sell in my store come in every size and shape that you can imagine. Dragons, gourds and tree stumps are among the most popular. Below you see some of the many shapes and sizes. If you don't see the one you like there are hundreds more to choose from. E-mail me a description of what your looking for and I will send you pictures of what is currently available. |
